Hatha, Vinyasa and Ashtanga are the most important yoga forms in a yoga teacher training. These three yoga forms vary in different factors. Hatha yoga is a practice that includes slow-paced yoga flows! It mostly focuses more on pranayama or breath work. It offers the training of the basic poses of yoga that often becomes the foundation of your yogic practices. In Hatha yoga style, you need to hold every pose for a longer period of time as compared to the other yoga forms. This is the best yoga practice for beginners. Now, Vinyasa yoga is more like a dynamic yoga flow. It includes a session that keeps on moving continuously. Here, yoga poses need breath synchronisation! The yoga sequences can be very creative depending on your yoga teacher. The intensity of this practice is medium to high.
Ashtanga yoga is a structured program which is quite intense in its sequence. It includes a series of yoga postures which are fixed throughout your session. It cannot be changed as in Vinyasa. This yoga practice demands more physical strength as compared to the other yoga forms. The flow is usually faster, and it requires immense discipline and focus. Consistency is required to learn this yoga flow. Ashtanga yoga sessions often include six series, which are fixed in nature. This form is best for intermediate to advanced level learners!
