100 Hour Yoga Course Overview

Learn and grow to become a certified yoga teacher

100 hour yoga teacher training in Rishikesh is a 12-night, 13-day yoga learning program that helps a yoga aspirant to understand the basics and concepts of yoga. Learn more about yoga teacher training courses and what they offer. This is a beginner- level yoga learning program that fabricates a foundation for yoga learning. Our 100 hour yoga ttc in Rishikesh is always bliss for the health and wellness lovers that magnetize people to start their yoga journey from this holy place. Yoga is an ancient art of health and wellness that helps in stimulating the mind, body, and soul. Moreover, modern-day polluted, hectic, and stressful life is degrading the efficiency of people.

With Yoga, one can overcome the anomalies caused due to uneven lifestyle. Not just physical fitness, yoga also imparts mental and emotional health. Thus, a career in yoga will be more fruitful than any other stream. For initiating a career in yoga, you can start with a Yoga Alliance certification of 200 Hour Yoga TTC in Rishikesh. However, if you are short on time and cannot commit to the full 28-day, 200-hour program right now, our 13-day 100 Hour Yoga TTC in Rishikesh is a shorter way to build a strong foundation, which you can later upgrade to a full 200-hour certification when you are ready to teach professionally.

The native place of yoga, Rishikesh is famous for some of the best yoga schools in India. Since the Vedic era, Rishikesh is known as the perfect place for meditation and spiritual practices. The presence of a naturalistic atmosphere with the bliss of Maa Ganga provides a perfect atmosphere for yogic activities. Authentic and Traditional knowledge of yoga is still in trend in various yoga school in Rishikesh. Its natural and divine atmosphere helps in building a love for yoga among the students.

One honest clarification worth making up front: Yoga Alliance does not issue an independent "RYS 100" or "RYT 100" registration — the 100-hour format is a foundation-level course taught within our Yoga Alliance USA registered school, not a standalone Yoga Alliance credential like the RYS 200 or RYS 300. What it does give you is 100 real contact hours of guided asana, pranayama, meditation and philosophy instruction under an E-RYT 500 lead trainer, which counts toward your practice and can be built on later with a full 200-hour RYS certification when you're ready to teach professionally.

Who is this program actually for? It suits complete beginners who want a structured, supervised introduction to yoga rather than scattered YouTube videos or drop-in classes, as well as intermediate practitioners who want to deepen technique and philosophy without committing to the full 28-day, 200-hour residential format yet. If your goal is an internationally recognized teaching certification you can list on a studio application immediately, our 200 Hour Yoga TTC (RYS 200) is the right starting point — the 100-hour course is best seen as a shorter, lower-commitment way to test whether residential training in Rishikesh is right for you.

Teaching Methodology

Asanas Practice

Today people all over the world practice yoga. But in this course the participant learns what is the correct alignment of yoga and what is the correct way to do it, including the moment of your hands, feet and body and how their alignment should be while doing every yoga.

Yoga History and Philosophy

Yogic Philosophy

Along with practicing yoga, everyone should also have knowledge of yoga philosophy. It tells about the history of yoga and the Hindu and Buddhist religious texts such as the Gita, Vedas as well as the value of mantras which purify our body, mind and soul.

Meditation

Yogic Anatomy

In yoga anatomy we basically deal with physical knowledge as well as the subtle organs of the human body, layers of the mind and energy networks: Koshas, Chakras, Nadis, Prana, Vayu and Kundalini. As a yoga teacher it is very important for you to have good knowledge of yoga anatomy.

Yoga Anatomy and Physiology

Different participants come from different places for yoga training. Apart from providing them better yoga training, we also take them on a tour of India and its local culture and also take them to see the traditional foods, clothes and religious places.

Why Choose Rishikesh for 100 Hour Yoga Teacher Training ?

Train where yoga began, in the peaceful Himalayas

Rishikesh sits in the Himalayan foothills of Uttarakhand on the banks of the Ganga, and is widely called the "Yoga Capital of the World" because yoga has been taught and practiced here continuously since the Vedic era — long before yoga studios existed anywhere else. Training here means learning in the place the practice actually comes from, not in a studio that has simply borrowed the name.

Our Tapovan campus is a short walk from the Ganga and from Rishikesh's older ashrams, so between classes you can sit by the river for your own practice or visit centuries-old spiritual sites — something that is simply not possible at a 100-hour program run out of a city gym or strip-mall studio elsewhere in the world.

Because Rishikesh draws yoga practitioners and teachers from dozens of countries year-round, a 100-hour course here also means training alongside — and learning from — a genuinely international cohort of fellow students, not a handful of local hobbyists.

For a foundation-level, 13-day course in particular, being taught by trainers who grew up inside this living tradition rather than trainers who studied yoga secondhand from books or online courses makes a real difference to how the philosophy, mantra and pranayama sections are taught — not just the physical asana.

If you are new to yoga, starting in Rishikesh means your very first structured introduction to the practice happens at its source, which makes it easier to build later training — including a full 200-hour RYS certification — on a foundation you can trust.

Nourish Body & Mind

A sattvic and healthy diet is always energetic. The importance of sattvic food to perform yoga at its best is described in many yogic books. A sattvic diet not only provides you with energy but also helps in controlling your senses. Thus to perform the utmost state of meditation or yoga you must avoid food with spices or a non-vegetarian diet.

The essence of yoga is incomplete without a proper yogic diet. Along with yoga learning and other aspects, Om Setu Yogashala also focuses on the food provided in our yoga school. During our yoga program, we prepare all meals following Ayurvedic principles to support yoga practice and healing. The use of fresh spices, Ayurvedic herbs, and fresh vegetable outlines our food preparation process.

During Yoga program, one of the major factors that affect the choice is accommodation. A cozy and comfortable stay in the lap of nature accelerates the efficiency of yoga learning. It's always a blissful experience when a person practices in the calm and energetic atmosphere of Rishikesh. Understanding this, we instituted our accommodation facility in the stillness of the holy city. Our residential premises is situated in between nature. To make a memorable stay in Rishikesh, we equipped our accommodation facilities with all modern amenities.

Ranging from our mattress to the hot and cold water supply, we offer each and everything to our yoga students. Our motto is to provide the essence and comfort of your home. This in turn helps in cultivating the best out of yoga classes. The chirping sounds of birds and spiritual chanting outside render the best yoga-learning atmosphere.
