OVERVIEW
Revive your body, soul, and mind with the best Yoga Retreat in Rishikesh at Om Setu Yogashala — a small, family-run yoga school in Tapovan, Rishikesh, just 2 minutes' walk from the holy Ganges. Founded in 2021 by Rishikesh-born retreat host Anil, our yoga retreat in Rishikesh has welcomed 850+ students from 47 countries who came for the yoga and stayed for the people. Led by Yoga Alliance certified teachers — Bhupendra (Pranayama & Meditation), Neelam and Deepa (Hatha & Vinyasa) — we offer authentic Indian yoga in its truest form.
You can expect twice-daily yoga sessions, sunrise treks to Kunjapuri Temple, silent meditation inside the ancient Vashistha Cave, an evening Ganga Aarti at Triveni Ghat, and a cultural village tour to Pav Ki Devi. Our retreat groups are intentionally kept small — maximum 8 guests at any time — so every traveler receives personalized attention. The dates are flexible and can be adjusted to your travel schedule. Whether you join solo or with friends, our yoga retreat in Rishikesh is designed to feel less like a hotel package and more like a stay with family.
A Yoga Retreat in Rishikesh is a holistic wellness break from your daily routine. Here you practice yogic activities like guided Hatha and Vinyasa yoga (physical exercise), guided meditation (mental exercise), pranayama (breathing exercise), and enjoy traditional sattvic Indian meals freshly prepared in our kitchen. Learn more about 2-week yoga retreats in Rishikesh and what makes them transformative. A yoga retreat brings you closer to yoga, Indian culture, and yourself. Combined with beautiful excursions to Vashistha Cave, Kunjapuri Temple, Pav Ki Devi village, and the Secret Waterfall, our yoga retreat is designed to revive you in body, mind, and spirit. Our Yoga Alliance certified teachers guide you through ancient Indian practices in their authentic form, helping you understand how yoga can improve your daily life long after the retreat ends.
A yoga retreat is quite different from a Yoga Teacher Training Course. A retreat is a short-term yoga holiday that aims to give relaxation and self-discovery, whereas a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh teaches you how to teach yoga to others. We also offer 100-hour and 300-hour TTC programs. Our retreat center in Tapovan is a place where you can stay relaxed while exploring nature, the riverside, and yoga itself — far away from city stress and daily routine.
Nestled in the Himalayan foothills along the holy river Ganga, Rishikesh is recognized worldwide as the Yoga Capital of the World. The natural environment is perfect for wellness — clean air, sacred river, mountain views, and a centuries-old yoga lineage that draws seekers from every continent. Rishikesh has a long history of saints, sadhus, and modern yoga teachers; even The Beatles famously stayed at the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi ashram here in 1968. A yoga retreat in Rishikesh is not just a vacation — it's a direct connection to the source of yoga itself.
Yoga in Rishikesh is a living legacy passed down through generations. Here, yoga is not only a practice but part of the daily spiritual rhythm — temple bells at dawn, mantra chanting from riverside ashrams, and the famous Ganga Aarti every evening at Triveni Ghat. Our Tapovan location places you right in the heart of this spiritual energy, while still being quiet enough to truly rest.
The natural beauty of Rishikesh — the Himalayan range as your backdrop, the holy Ganga flowing past your accommodation, hidden caves like Vashistha and Phool Chatti, sunrise viewpoints like Kunjapuri Temple — attracts people from around the world to immerse themselves in rejuvenating yoga experiences. The combination of spirituality, gentle adventure, authentic culture, and a deep healing heritage makes Rishikesh genuinely the best place in the world to experience a yoga retreat. A trip to Rishikesh is one of the highest-return investments you can make in your total well-being.
Six reasons travellers from 47+ countries choose Om Setu over larger ashrams
Our shala sits 2 minutes from the Ganga in Tapovan. Sunrise Hatha and evening pranayama happen with the river audible in the background — a sensory anchor you simply cannot replicate in city studios.
Unlike 30-student group retreats, we cap each batch at 8. That means real one-on-one alignment cues, posture corrections by name, and a teacher who actually remembers your knee injury on day three.
Around 60% of our retreat guests have never held a downward dog before arrival. Our morning Hatha is paced for absolute beginners; advanced practitioners get parallel modifications without splitting the group.
Founder Anil — born in Rishikesh, 5+ years hosting, 850+ guests welcomed — personally meets every retreat. You won't get bounced between staff. He's there at airport pickup, at evening Aarti, and at your departure.
Included: silent meditation inside the 4,000-year-old Vashistha Cave, sunrise hike to Kunjapuri Devi Temple, and a guided walk to a working Garhwali mountain village — not the standard Laxman Jhula tourist loop.
Three sattvic meals daily, prepared with locally-sourced organic vegetables and zero processed food — gluten-free and vegan options on request. Private en-suite room standard; no shared dorms, no upgrade fees.

Born and raised in Rishikesh, Anil is the heart of every Om Setu retreat. With 5+ years of hosting yoga retreats across India, he founded Om Setu Yogashala in 2021 to share the authentic Rishikesh he grew up with — the quiet riverside paths of Tapovan, the sunrise from Kunjapuri, the silence of Vashistha Cave, the local food his grandmother taught him to love.
Anil personally hosts every single retreat — he is not a hands-off owner. From the moment you arrive at the airport to the final goodbye, he ensures every guest is cared for like family. This is why our guests from 47 countries describe their stay as "feeling at home in the Himalayas."

Yoga Retreat
At our Retreat, we don't limit your program to the mat only. We want you to feel the Rishikesh vibes — its narrow streets full of stories, the taste of local street food, the vibrant colors of Tapovan markets, and the soulful evening of the famous Ganga Aarti by the river. We will not only visit the ancient Vashistha Cave but actually meditate inside it, trek to Kunjapuri Temple for a Himalayan sunrise, walk through Pav Ki Devi village to meet the local mountain communities, and discover a side of India that most travelers never visit.
We believe true retreat is not just about practicing Yoga, it's more about the memories that you carry back to your home. That’s why we try to give each guest a personalized experience.
One of our guests said:
“I didn’t know I was going to have a host who would truly be there for me. You showed me kindness, humor, and the real India. I came scared and left confident — and excited to see more.”
That’s what we wish for you too. To stay in Rishikesh with peace in your heart, a smile on your face, and memories that stay with you forever.

Yoga Retreat
There are several factors to consider when choosing the right yoga retreat in Rishikesh for yourself. With dozens of yoga schools in Rishikesh, here are the five vital things to keep in mind so you don't end up disappointed:
The most important step is to check verified Google reviews, which tell you about the ambience, teaching quality, food, accommodation, and how guests were treated. Always define what you want from a retreat — relaxation, deepening practice, spiritual growth, or cultural immersion — and choose a retreat that aligns with your goal. Read about our story and approach, learn more about our founder Anil, or feel free to contact us directly with any questions before you book.
Yoga Retreat
The goodness of yoga doubles when complemented with meditation. Our yoga and meditation retreat in Rishikesh offers both daily — yoga asana and pranayama in the morning, meditation in the afternoon. While yoga works on physical health by building flexibility, strength, and immunity, meditation cleanses the mind and reconnects you to your inner self. Explore the comprehensive benefits of yoga for your physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.
A typical retreat day includes two morning sessions — guided Hatha or Vinyasa yoga asana with Neelam, followed by pranayama with Bhupendra — and an afternoon meditation session covering Yog Nidra, sound healing, or guided silent meditation. Once during your stay, we walk together to the ancient Vashistha Cave and meditate inside it — an experience our guests describe as the most powerful moment of the retreat. This balanced structure relieves stress, calms anxiety, supports better sleep, and leaves you genuinely lighter. No matter what emotional baggage you arrive with, we make sure you leave with peace in your heart. Our yoga retreat in Rishikesh is more than yoga — it is one complete program that gives you many benefits in just a few days.
Questions You May Have
We've just returned from a phenomenal 10 day retreat with Om Setu in Tapovan, Rishikesh. When we initially booked our trip some months ago we were overwhelmed by there being so many yoga companies in Rishikesh to choose from. We didn't know for sure what we would experience when deciding upon Om Setu. Any uncertainties soon dispersed upon arrival & meeting our host. Over the course of our 10 day trip, They were the perfect hosts and took very good care of our needs immersing us into cultural and local excursions and ceremonies & experiences. Teachers are friendly, insightful & talented meditation & pranayama teacher and kind & thoughtful host. As a result, our trip was an unforgettable experience. We have so many beautiful memories which we will hold dear in our hearts & will be returning. If you are considering an immersive experience of Rishikesh with a caring company then look no further than Om Setu, I highly recommend & rest assured you will be in good hands. 🙏🧡🇮🇳🧘♂️

Situated in the foothills of the Himalayas on the bendy bank of the river Ganges is the Om Setu Yogashala 🧘🏻♀️🧡 You’d think, that because of the stunning mountain back drop and mesmerising green flow of the sacred river just a stones throw from your room, that it’s all about the location. But its not just that - the amazing programme put together for my best friend and me was delivered by the loveliest human beings I’ve ever met, and it’s people that make your memories and experiences so special. All are funny, kind and welcoming and love to share their knowledge with you. If you go, (and you really should!!), say hello to my far away friends for me. 🥰But not to worry if you forget - I will return!✨ …Oh and just a heads up; it’s really quite windy in the mornings on the Ganges, so take a hoodie!!

I cannot speak highly enough of Om Setu Yogashala. We were so well looked after by Host and his team. The quality and professionalism of the teachers was outstanding. Arti is a fantastic yoga teacher and Ayurvedic practitioner. Bhuppi is an exceptional Pranayama and Meditation teacher who generously shares his knowledge and wisdom. All this on the banks of the river Ganges. Perfect location. Host has organised a wonderful schedule which includes many excursions and everyone is so giving of their time. Felt very well looked after. Really going to miss all people. It was quite sad to say goodbye.

You will have an amazing experience if you chose this retreat in Rishikesh. Host is one of the most genuine kind and caring people I have ever had the pleasure to meet. He ensures that every day of your yoga retreat experience is wonderful, nothing is too much trouble, he is flexible and will adjust the timetable in any way you wish to ensure that every experience you hope for is achieved. He took such good care of us that by the time we left we felt a bond like we were family. Bhupi Ji is a remarkable teacher of meditation, pranayama and yoga / Hindu philosophy and a wonderful human being, we learned so much from him and he took equally good care of us along with our incredible excursions. The location of the accommodation is outstanding - you open your room door directly onto a terrace which is on the beach of the beautiful Ganga. Located at the edge of Tapovan this is a tranquil and beautiful spot. I cannot recommend this experience more highly.
