50 Hour Pranayama Meditation Course Overview

Deepen breath awareness and inner stillness in the Yoga Capital of the World

Our 50 hour Pranayama Meditation course in Rishikesh is a focused, 7-day immersion at Om Setu Yogashala in Tapovan. Unlike a general yoga teacher training, this programme is built entirely around the inner limbs of yoga — pranayama (breath regulation), pratyahara (withdrawal of senses), dharana (concentration) and dhyana (meditation). Over 50 contact hours you learn classical breathing techniques, guided and silent meditation, Yoga Nidra, mantra chanting and the theory that makes each practice safe and effective. The course fee is USD 550 per person (tuition only); accommodation and meals can be booked separately at our Tapovan residence.

The course is led personally by Yogini Arti, our lead trainer for pranayama and meditation. With a Master's Degree in Yoga from Jai Ram Ashram, Rishikesh, and over eight years of teaching experience, Arti specialises in traditional pranayama, mantra, mudras, bandhas, meditation and Yoga Nidra. This dedicated 50-hour course gives you focused depth in breathwork and inner practice. Learn what meditation truly is and why Rishikesh has been the home of these practices for centuries.

Why Study Pranayama & Meditation in Rishikesh?

Rishikesh sits at the foothills of the Himalayas where the Ganga flows down from the mountains — a geography that yogis have chosen for meditation and breath practice for over a thousand years. The cool morning air, the sound of the river, and the sattvic atmosphere of Tapovan (where alcohol and meat are not sold) create conditions that are genuinely different from practising at home. For pranayama specifically, clean air, quiet mornings and a consistent daily routine are not luxuries — they are part of the practice itself.

Who Is This 50 Hour Course For?

This programme is for yoga practitioners, aspiring teachers, wellness coaches, therapists and anyone seeking stress relief, mental clarity or a deeper meditation practice. You do not need prior teacher training. If you already teach yoga but feel your pranayama and meditation instruction needs more depth before you guide others, this course fills that gap. It also pairs well with our meditation and Yoga Nidra retreat or a longer 100 hour yoga TTC if you want to continue your journey.

Why Choose Om Setu Yogashala for Pranayama & Meditation?

Authentic instruction, small groups, residential immersion

Expert-Led Instruction: Yogini Arti holds a Master's Degree in Yoga from Jai Ram Ashram, Rishikesh, and has taught Hatha yoga, pranayama, meditation and Yoga Nidra for over eight years. She teaches the core breathwork and meditation sessions personally, with individual corrections and progressive sequencing tailored to each student's capacity.

Small Group Format: Batches are kept intentionally small so Arti can observe each student's breathing pattern, adjust retention ratios and ensure safe practice. This is not a large retreat where you follow along from the back of a hall.

Yoga Alliance Registered School: Om Setu Yogashala is registered with Yoga Alliance USA as RYS 200 and RYS 500. While this 50-hour course is a specialised immersion (not a YTTC), you study at an established school with verified credentials, experienced faculty and a track record of 4.9 stars from 121 Google reviews.

On-Site Residential Option: Accommodation and sattvic meals are available at our Tapovan residence at additional cost (not included in the USD 550 course fee). Staying on-site lets you maintain morning silence and a schedule built entirely around pranayama and meditation. Founder Anil lives at the shala and personally oversees every batch.
